Gum Disease Care

There is a growing body of research suggesting a link between gum disease and other systemic health conditions. When bacteria from the mouth enters the bloodstream, it can potentially affect other parts of the body and lead to inflammation. This chronic inflammation is thought to be a contributing factor in the development of conditions such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. In pregnant women, gum disease has been linked to an increased risk of premature birth and low birth weight. It’s important to maintain good oral hygiene and treat gum disease promptly to reduce the risk of these potential health complications.

Periodontal treatment

At our clinic, we prioritize promoting periodontal health in a minimally invasive and cost-effective way. In cases of gingivitis or periodontitis, we typically start with scaling and cleaning the affected teeth to remove plaque and tartar, but more complex treatments may be necessary for full restoration of oral health. By addressing gum disease, we can also pave the way for additional cosmetic dental procedures that may not have been possible otherwise.

If full periodontal treatment is required, we will refer you to one of our trusted specialists.
